Do I Need A New Mattress?

1. Do you wake up sore?

2. Do you wake up feeling un-rested?

3. Is you’re the best mattress more than 9 years old?

4. When you lay your hand on the mattress with about 3 pounds of pressure and slide it over the mattress do you feel lumps?

5. Is there a noticeable sag in the middle of the mattress?

If you answered yes to 3 or more of the above questions you should purchase a new mattress right away.

What Do You Need In A Mattress?

1. Level of support

If you need support specifically for your lower back you need it concentrated in the centre third of the mattress. For your shoulders, you need support distributed evenly over the mattress. Mattresses with specifically 'zoned' support areas are available, providing varied firmness to areas requiring greater support.

2. Price

You should always research the make up of a mattress. Some expensive mattresses have the same support as medium priced mattress but have nonsensical additions, such as fancy fabric.

3. Allergies

If you suffer from allergies there are mattresses that are especially designed and marketed for your needs. Also, if you do like a mattress but it isn't hypo- or anti-allergenic you can always buy hypo-allergenic covers; just ask the sales assistant to ensure this won’t impact the mattress performance.
